7th Edition of “Blank Pages of Music” – call for applications

Sep 28, 2017

We are glad to inform about the launch of the 7th edition of the programme “Blank Pages of Music” run by the Institute of Music and Dance.

The programme is addressed to Polish and foreign researchers who intend to carry out research related to neglected or little known areas of Polish music and dance. The research may span a broad chronological spectrum and a variety of genres, investigating composing, artistic activity, musicological activity, reception of music, as well as the history, theory and aesthetics of Polish dance, in particular performance dance.

Prospective subjects of study will be submitted to the Institute of Music and Dance directly by the researcher or a group of researchers (up to 3 persons). The outcomes – such as an academic paper, catalogue of an artist’s output, database, reconstruction of a piece, study of source materials – will be financed and published by the Institute. Eligible researchers must have a diploma of higher education and a documented history of past research achievements.

Twenty-five percent of 2017/18 edition’s budget will be earmarked for research devoted to the Polish musical life during the time when Poland was occupied after the partitions.

The programme will last from 2 November 2017 until 31 July 2017. The deadline for applications is 18 October 2017. Final qualification of projects for the programme will take place by 31 October 2017.

More details of the programme along with its Rules and Regulations are available in the Programmes section of the website.
