Andrzej Kosowski - director

A graduate of the Academy of Music in Cracow and the European Mozart Academy. In 1996–2012, he worked in the PWM Edition (Polskie Wydawnictwo Muzyczne SA), serving as editor in chief since 2001. The creator and director of six editions of the Festival of Polish Music in Cracow (2005–2010). A council member of the Polish Chamber of Books (PIK) in 2006–2009, and board member of the Association of Authors and Publishers Polska Książka in 2007–2009. A member of the artistic boards of the Silesian Philharmonic (2007–2010) and the Krakow Opera (2001–2004). In 2007 he was a member of the Karol Szymanowski Year Organizing Committee at the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. In 2013 he was the Minister’s plenipotentiary for Witold Lutosławski Year, and in 2014, the coordinator of the Oskar Kolberg Year. A member of the Polish Music Association, the Karol Szymanowski Music Society and the Witold Lutosławski Society.

Joanna Szymajda - deputy director

A holder of a PhD in humanities, she defended her doctoral dissertation at Université Paris III Sorbonne Nouvelle and the University of Łódź. She holds an MA in theater studies and in psychology from the University of Łódź and Université Lyon II.

The author of the book Estetyka współczesnego tańca europejskiego po 1990 (The Aesthetics of Contemporary European Dance Since 1990) released by Księgarnia Akademicka, and the editor of a collective book European Dance since 1989 (Routledge/IMIT). The author of academic and critical articles on contemporary dance in a range of publications, including Dialog, Teatr, Didaskalia, Kultura Współczesna, Ruch Muzyczny and Opcje. She worked as a dance project curator, for example, at the Dialogue of Four Cultures Festival, and as an artistic coordinator of the Body/Mind International Contemporary Dance Festival.
